What's New in JetBrains WebStorm 2019.1.1

JetBrains WebStorm is an advanced and intelligent Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for web, JavaScript and TypeScript development. It provides an intelligent editor, powerful navigation, real-time error detection, code completion, refactoring, debugging, testing and more.

In April 2019, JetBrains released WebStorm 2019.1.1, the first bug-fix update for the recently released WebStorm 2019.1. This update brings some improvements and new features that make web development easier and more enjoyable. Here are some of the highlights of WebStorm 2019.1.1:

Syntax highlighting in the type info tooltip and documentation: The tooltip that shows the expression type (Cmd/Ctrl-hover) in JavaScript and TypeScript files now has syntax highlighting. The same applies to the code samples shown in the documentation popup.

Configuration for the use of aliases and path mappings in imports: It is now possible to configure how aliases and path mappings will be used when adding imports automatically in JavaScript and TypeScript files. You can select Only in files outside specified paths in the new option Use path mappings/aliases in Preferences / Settings Editor Code Style JavaScript or TypeScript â Imports.

Support for Cucumber step definitions written using strings: WebStorm now recognizes Cucumber step definitions written using strings instead of regular expressions.

New Reload in Browser action in the JavaScript debug tool window: You can now reload the page in the browser from the JavaScript debug tool window using a new button or a shortcut.

Performance improvement for editing some TypeScript types: A performance problem that occurred when editing some TypeScript types was fixed.

Improved font rendering on macOS: The font rendering on macOS was improved to make it more crisp and clear.

Flow integration now uses Flow LSP: WebStorm now uses Flow Language Server Protocol (LSP) for better integration with Flow, a static type checker for JavaScript.
